Harold Christopher Burger, PhD

A picture of myself.
I am currently global lead for Selligent Cortex, the AI layer of the Selligent Marketing Cloud platform. I am responsible for everything AI-related in product engineering. I am in charge of building innovative features in our leading marketing automation platform and internal enablement of our engineering organization and product marketing team.

Before that, I was co-founder and CTO at TasteHit. TasteHit was a Software-as-a-Service user engagement platform for modernizing existing online shops using Artificial Intelligence. It provided online merchants with a suite of data-driven user experience tools for web, mobile and email, to increase the sales performance of their shops. TasteHit's customers included niche retailers, specialized marketplaces and famous fashion brands.

I was formerly a PhD student at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, Germany, under the supervision of Bernhard Schölkopf and Stefan Harmeling, where my research focus was image denoising. I have achieved state-of-the-art results using neural networks.

My email address.

I started a blog.
I'll write about whatever goes through my mind.

My primary research focus has been image denoising. I am particularly proud to have achieved state-of-the-art results. This was made possible through machine learning, and neural networks in particular. See the project page. You can also check out my page at the Max Planck Institute or my Google scholar page.
